Inventory/Receiving Clerk

Reports To: COO

The Receiving and Inventory Clerk is responsible for the efficient receiving of all materials ordered and for performing inventory on all products.

Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks. Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice. Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments.

Essential Job Functions

The major tasks and duties of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Records of materials received and counts items received and checks against packing lists, recording any discrepancies,
  • Compares received products to packing lists to ensure that deliveries are complete,
  • Ensures that inventory is on route, on shelves, and well-stocked,
  • Assists in unloading deliveries,
  • Tracks deliveries and troubleshoots order issues with suppliers,
  • Reports and facilitates any damaged or loss products with supplier,
  • Reviews and applies inventory activities, including movements and deletions,
  • Maintains and updates inventory records,
  • Develops and implements efficient inventory management procedures,
  • Reconciles inventory discrepancies,
  • Reports any stock issues to management,
  • Places product orders as necessary,
  • Maintain work area and equipment,
  • Demonstrates behavior consistent with ChemGenes’ Core Values,
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Preparation, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification
  • Required Training:USDOT Hazardous Materials Transportation Training
  • HAZPOWER awareness, operations, and technician level training.
  • Strong computer skills with proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel; ability to understand and use ChemGenes ERP software.
  • Accuracy and close attention to details.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with good mathematical skills.
  • Ability to follow company SOPs and perform packaging protocols successfully.
  • Maintain cleanness in the packaging area.
  • Understands and applies basic laboratory safety instructions, reagent handling precautions, and disposal of chemical waste according to local environmental regulations.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere, have experience in aseptic techniques, and have a positive attitude toward work environment.
