Inside Sales Representative

Reports To: COO

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for developing trust and loyalty from prospective customers. Following up on cold and warm leads, the Inside Sales Representative will seek to increase sales by working with new contacts or dormant customers.

Interacts with customers via telephone or email answering inquires and handling basic problems about products and order status.

Essential Job Functions

The major tasks and duties of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Attracts potential customers by answering product and service questions; suggesting information about other products and services.
  • Fields new customers via our Website request form.
  • Sending out new E-catalogs.
  • Provides price quotes and/or account information upon request to ensure customers are able to make informed decisions regarding their purchase.
  • Recommends potential products or services to management by collecting customer information and analyzing customer needs.
  • Provides administrative support for ChemGenes’ sales team.
  • Demonstrates behavior consistent with ChemGenes’ Core Values.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Preparation, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong computer skills with proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel; ability to understand and use ChemGenes ERP software.
  • Ability to multitask and complete work with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, to customers and colleagues.
  • Effective, clear, and polite phone skills.
  • Ability to keep key personnel informed and up-to-date of imminent issues.
  • Able to work independently or collaboratively in a group.
  • Knowledge of customer service fundamentals.
  • Adaptability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

The work will be performed in the ChemGenes’ corporate office which requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, push, pull, reach, carry, lift, grasp, squat or stoop; bend and twist the body while performing essential duties; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk or hear. The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
